What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is how we show we care - about our school, community and each other.
This includes our school-wide expectations (how we treat each other), our reinforcement system (how we acknowledge each other for meeting our expectations), and our accountability system (how we are held accountable to our expectations).
What are the Outcomes?
Improved school climate, safety and equity
Decreased learning disruptions and disrespectful behaviors
Increased attention on achievement and social emotional learning
Why is it Needed Here?
Our community has high standards for our schools and our students. But just like reading, writing, football and playing in a marching band - all behaviors must be taught before we can expect students to meet our expectations.
PBIS provides predictable and equitable expectations for all and holds all of us accountable to these expectations. We measure and share our outcomes with staff and the community on regular basis so that we can all grow together.
This is what Bulldog Rising means to us!
